Year 1 - Autumn Term

A day at the coast in Autumn...What would the weather be like? We started this half term with a day at the seaside in school.

 

We painted pebbles and drew seaweed, shells and cuttle fish that had been washed up on the shore in a storm.

 

We used nets to see what we could catch in the paddling pool. Suddenly we heard a noise...the ice-cream van had arrived.

What an amazing, fun day!​

In Art, we have been exploring the artwork of Steven Wiltshire and Kara Walker.

 

We then used what we have explored to make our own 'Great Fire of London' pictures. For this, the children created the fire background using paint.

 

They then designed their buildings on a tile before printing these with printing ink.
