Every school term we open or launch new resources at Dogsthorpe Infant School and this term was no exception. On the first day of the Autumn 2019 term we opened our new Book Nook library. A totally new room with new furniture & resources to encourage our children's reading. 'The Book Nook' has been designed for all age groups and can be used for storytelling or simply 'quiet reading'.
We held our Harvest Shine Time on October 4th and staff & parents donated 210kg (33 Stones) of food for the Peterborough Foodbank.

Our Book Buzz and Race To Read Competitions continued with our children and their parents and carers.
Our STEM LEGO ALL STARS heard about great inventors, scientists and engineers and then build their own models.
STEM learning included inventors, scientists and engineers such as Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Thomas Andrews, Henry Ford & The Wright Brothers
Our Reading With Santa was a 'Sell Out' event with 160 people from the local community attending. Children enjoyed hot chocolate & read to Santa!
Meanwhile in Year 1 Forest School the children made dreamcatchers and listened to great stories in the fresh air.
